Sandra Alfaro
CEO
Sandra Alfaro joined GUT in September 2023 as their first CEO for the U.S. She leads GUT’s Miami headquarters as well as their Los Angeles office.
For almost 30 years, Sandra has partnered with Clients to help drive transformational growth by harnessing the power and influence of diverse consumers. She has a keen ability to understand her Clients’ businesses, and leverage that knowledge to inspire effective integrated communications that catapult brands into culture. She has led award-winning integrated campaigns in every major category, including retail, consumer goods, technology, pharma, automotive, healthcare, apparel, beer/spirits, and more. Passionate about people, leadership, and culture, Sandra has a superior ability to build and nurture best-in-class account teams comprised of high performers who excel at delivering integrated brand solutions to their Clients.
Prior to GUT, Sandra was President of DDB Chicago. In that role, she led the launch of the office’s first dedicated Social practice, as well as expanded the agency’s Data & Analytics capabilities, and led several successful new business wins.
Before joining DDB Chicago, Sandra was at Horizon Media, where she was the first leader of the culture-first creative agency 305 Worldwide, a joint venture with global artist Pitbull. Prior to Horizon, Sandra was the Managing Director of Grey Wing. During her 5 years with Grey, Sandra helped reignite Wing’s leadership in the industry, adding new Clients such as Pfizer, Papa John’s, Lilly, and Nestle.
Sandra began her career at Saatchi & Saatchi’s Conill Advertising, where she discovered her passion for Advertising and business leadership. Later, at The Vidal Partnership (TVP), Sandra spent over a decade building a best-in-class Account Management department, reaching the role of Managing Partner of the agency before she was 30. She was critical to TVP’s unprecedented growth, which led to the agency being recognized as Multicultural Agency of the Year for three consecutive years. Sandra was recognized by Advertising Age in their 2005 Women to Watch profile, the youngest recipient to receive the honor at the time. She has also been recognized by Crain’s New York business as a Notable Hispanic Leader & Executive
Sandra earned her MBA in Marketing and Management from NYU’s Stern School of Business and her BSBA in International Business from The American University. She is an active speaker on topics including Leadership, Culture, and Marketing. She has been a guest lecturer at Northwestern and NYU. In 2019, Sandra earned her Professional Coaching Certification and founded Power & Grace, a boutique consultancy offering Life and Business Coaching, Corporate Training, and Public Speaking.
Sandra is originally from New York. She has a nine-year-old son, Sebastian. Sandra loves to travel near and far. She will often be heard saying that there is life “before and after India” due to the profound impact that a 2010 personal and spiritual journey to India had on her life. In addition to traveling, Sandra is an avid reader, theater junky, and movie buff.
